This Privacy Policy cover the use by 55-Alive! of any information that you provide to us when you use our Website. 1.  General Use of Information 

 

a.       Membership Information.  We do not sell, rent, or disclose to any third party any information that you provide to us in connection with becoming a 55-Alive! member.  As membership is free, we do not collect any financial information in connection with your 55-Alive! membership. 

  

b.   Trusted Affiliates and Trusted Partners.   Some companies allow the sharing of personal information with trusted affiliatestrusted partners, and the like.  We do not have any trusted affiliates, trusted partners, or any similar parties with whom we share a user's personal information.

 

c.      Information provided by third parties to 55-Alive! users.  Our Website includes or may include various features and information provided by third parties, such as:

 

i.                    video content

ii.                  weather information

iii.                RV listings

iv.                Retirement Community listings

 

In order to make use of these and similar features, it's often necessary to submit certain limited information, such as a video request or a request to see RV listings or retirement community listings meeting certain criteria.  This information is used by third parties to provide you with the related requested information (i.e. a video, or a list of RV's or retirement communities meeting your search criteria).  We do not supply any such third party with any information (including your name) that you may have furnished to us in connection with becoming a 55-Alive! member; thus the third parties can not match up your name with the information requested.

d.       Information furnished in connection with Postings on 55-Alive!  Subject to the 55-Alive! Terms and Conditions of Use, postings that you may make in the public sections of 55-Alive! may be viewable by anyone having access to the Internet.    

 

e.       55-Alive! Membership and 55-Alive Romance! Membership.  If you become a 55-Alive! member, and/or a 55-Alive Romance! Member, you will have the ability to contact other members, and to have other members contact you.  In addition to making postings that may be displayed in the public areas of 55-Alive! (such as, without limitation, discussion boards, chat rooms, groups, blogs, and profiles), 55-Alive! also provides functionality including the ability to contact other members through 55-Alive!'s e-mail system.   While we don't give out personal e-mail addresses that you have provided to us, others will be able to contact you by using the user name that you selected when becoming a 55-Alive! member.   Part of 55-Alive!'s e-mail system includes automated e-mails that go to your personal account letting you know that you've received an e-mail from someone on 55-Alive!  If you've signed up as a 55-Alive Romance! member and wish to receive Romance Alerts, you may also receive e-mails regarding new members that may meet your romance criteria.

 

f.         Newsletters.  We typically publish an electronic newsletter approximately twice a month and send this to our members. 

 

g.      Aggregate Information.  Most large websites, including 55-Alive.com, collect information about web traffic, such as the number of "hits" or visits received, and certain other technical information relating to website usage.  We may share such aggregate information with third parties in the course of soliciting for advertisement on 55-Alive! or otherwise, and may also make internal use of such information.   This aggregate information cannot be used to identify any specific user.    

  

2.  Cookies. 

 

Most large websites (including websites such as Amazon.com and AARP) also utilize what are commonly known as “cookies”, which are small files of information stored on a user’s computer to help promote the user's online experience.   For example, a cookie might be used to remember your user name, so that when you re-visit a site requiring a log in you don't have to re-type your user name each time you visit the site.  Cookies are also commonly used to remember any particular preferences that you might have provided when using a website, or to remember the web pages you've previously viewed.  We may also utilize gif's to perform a similar function.

 

Cookies are not viruses or spyware.  For any particular website, cookies are used to share only that information that you choose to provide to that specific website.  Cookies do not, for instance, allow one website to have information that you've provided to another website, or to allow a website to have access to any information that you have not chosen to give to that website.

3.  Advertising and Listings. 

 

55-Alive! provides various advertising possibilities to users and third parties, such as the ability to list RVs for sale.  As part of processing such listings, Verisign is used to process credit card transactions.  Verisign, a nationally recognized leader of  secure transactions, is used on over 400,000 websites and enables more than 14 billion internet transaction per day, and facilitates transactions over a secure and encrypted system to ensure that credit card information is safe.  (For more information on Verisign, please see www.verisign.com).  55-Alive does! not store any credit card information on its server.

 

4.  Policy Subject to Legal Requirements.  

 

The 55-Alive! Privacy Policy is in all respects subject to federal and state laws and court orders.  We will comply with any court order, including subpoenas, requiring us to disclose information that otherwise would not be disclosed.
